CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS

If you have Canadian work experience, such as an international student who worked after their studies, Canadian Experience Class may be the right Express Entry option to earn permanent residency in Canada. In this program, an emphasis is put on workers who have experience in managerial, professional or technical jobs or skilled trades.

In order to be eligible for Canadian Experience Class Express Entry, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Work Experience
    • At least 12 months (1,560 hours) full-time or part-time paid work in the last 3 years
    • Work experience must be in one or more occupations that are listed in skill level 0, A or B of the National Occupation Classification (NOC)
    • Any work experience gained while being a full-time student is NOT valid, nor is self-employment 
  • Education Requirements:
    • There is no education requirement under CEC, but, you can improve your points ranking with a Canadian secondary or post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree OR a completed foreign credential with an educational credential assessment (ECA) for immigration purposes report from an agency approved by IRCC that is less than five years old.
  • Language Requirements:
    • Applicants must meet the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of at least level 7 for NOC 0 or NOC A occupations or level 5 for NOC B occupations 
    • Language test results must not be more than two years old at the time of application.
